I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:3-6)
We do thank God each time we think of you, with joy because of your friendship and partnership in the gospel. We pray for you, and hope that you pray for us, that the One who began a good work in each of us will faithfully complete it in our lives.
During these cold and rainy Autumn days (record-breaking rainfall!) we continue in our daily work. Dave has given a fuller picture of his ministry here, appropriately including a sports analogy! And more about Mary’s ministry is written here.
Occasionally we are surprised by unexpected opportunities, and we ask for your prayers as Mary has been invited to come to Liberia for a couple of weeks in the first part of December, to work with the SIM Liberia team in the development of their Child Safety program. Her love of Liberia and her work with Child Safety seem to be the right combination for this trip. She is looking forward to it, but finds travel a bit more stressful than in years past so really covets your prayers.
We are looking forward to a Thanksgiving weekend with ALL of our sons, their wives and significant others, and our grand-kids! The times that we can all be together are growing fewer, and we look forward with great joy to those times.
Thanking God together with you for His good work,
Dave and Mary
- Pray for Mary’s trip to Liberia. Pray for encouraging times together of discussing principles and practices for a most effective child safety program, appropriate to the cultural and legal climate in Liberia. Pray for safety in travels, and good connections with long-time friends.
- Pray for Dave and the finance team at SIM USA. Their oversight and stewardship of the financial provisions God has made often involved complicated questions, and their ministry to each SIM worker is essential.
- Please continue to pray for our financial support to reach 100%. We have been blessed by the addition of a couple of monthly supporters, and by some very generous one-time gifts. We are so grateful. Please pray for the Lord to draw others to be part of our financial support.
- Please continue to pray for Mary’s extended family. We are saddened by the death of one of Mary’s aunts, Margee, and are praying for comfort and peace for her family. Aunt Kate would continue to appreciate prayers as she continues to battle cancer.
